Discover the Etsch´s source during your hiking vacation at the Reschen Pass
Hiking in Vinschgau offers many possibilities. A great route is the glacier trail Langtaufers, established in 2007. This moderate route takes you from Melag Langtaufers up to the Weißkugel hut, which is located on the southern hillside and offers a spectacular view on the icy glaciers of the Oetztal alps. Another way to enjoy walking at the Reschen pass is a visit to the hiking paradise Schöneben. Use the gondola lift at the base station in the west of the Reschen and start your walk! Among others, the less demanding trail from Schöneben to the Haider alp is recommended. You want to start your own expedition, than make your way towards the famous Etsch source during your hiking holiday in South Tyrol. From the Reschen on, your way through the forest of the alpine Vinschger trail is guided by signposts. Follow the trail until you reach the origin of the Etsch and reward yourself with a sip of clear spring water. Among the many exciting hiking trails in Vinschgau, the round trip around the Reschen lake stands out.

Hiking in Vinschgau for exercised hikers
If you prefer alpine hiking in Vischgau on demanding routes, you have numerous opportunities to explore the triangle-border Italy-Austria-Switzerland. A good idea is the Rescher mountain path, which takes you from the hamlet Rojen to the Rescher alp. In about five hours you overcome 560 meters in height  on this moderately difficult trail and you can enjoy the early summer, the growth of the alpine rose and a beautiful view. Even glacier tours to the Weißkugel and the Ortler, a hike to the Klopaier peak, to the Bergkastel in Nauders, to the Seeboden peak on the Haider Alm or to the Pfaffen lakes and the hiking summit Watles are excellent for experienced hikers.
